59-year-old veteran actor Michael De Mesa, who was born as Michael Edward Gil Eigenmann is one of the children of performer Eduardo ″Eddie Mesa″ Eigenmann and actress Rosemarie Gil. He started acting at the age of 16 in his first stint in 1975 in Araw-araw, Gabi-gabi, and remains active today in film and television.
His most recent stint is the supporting role in the long-running primetime Kapamilya series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, where he played as Ramil “Manager” Taduran, one of the members of the rebel group Vendetta.
Speaking of his personal life, Michael was the former husband of actress Gina Alajar, they tied the knot in 1978 but their relationship only lasted for almost 23 years. The two separated in 2001 and their marriage was officially annulled in 2006. Gina and Michael have three children together, all of whom are in show business: Ryan, Geoff, and AJ Eigenmann.
Luckily, the veteran actor got his second chance in love when he met his current wife, Julie Reyes-Eigenmann. The two exchanged vows in September 2011, but in total they’ve been sharing their lives together for over 18 years.
Many admire their strong and long-lasting bond as husband and wife, and on how they managed to restore their faith in true love, despite that they both came from unsuccessful past affairs.
Julie, who is a dancer-choreographer from Hotlegs, Manila’s premier jazz group, was 13-year younger than her actor husband, but it seems not to be a problem for the couple. What’s more important for them is that they have found a lot of common denominators with one another.
Browsing the social media account of the “Ang Probinsyano” actor, you will see how they enjoy spending time together doing the thing they both love such as traveling, food trips, working out together, and simply making fun of themselves. Michael also loves spending quality time with his 6 children and five charming grandchildren.
In 2010, he and his wife tried to live a new life away from the limelight and to try looking for work in a different field. They decided during that time to reside in the United States, but they changed their minds eventually after they realized they wanted to witness their grandchildren growing up.
