Vina Morales Admits Being “Crazy” In Love With Robin Padilla Before

In the controversial world of showbiz, we have witnessed some of our favorite loveteams who started from reel turning into real relationships.

Just like what happened to Kapamilya singer-actress Vina Morales or Sharon Garcia Magdayao in real life who was first caught by Robin Padilla’s charm when they co-starred in the film “Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum” in 1991.

The following year, the two had developed feelings for each other when they filmed the movies “Miss Kita” and Ang “Utol Kong Hoodlum.” The action star was said to be her first-ever boyfriend.

It was in 2014 when the two were paired up again for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo.” That time, the action star plays the titular character Andres Bonifacio while Vina as the revolutionary hero’s second wife Gregoria de Jesus.

Last year, the 44-year-old actress was cast in the musical movie “Damaso,” where she portrayed the role of ‘Sisa,” a famous fictional character from the Philippine national hero Jose Rizal classic novel “Noli Me Tangere.”

Vina’s role in the musical movie is a passive wife to her husband and a loving mother to her children, Crispin and Basilio, who eventually goes insane when her sons go missing. The singer-actress admitted that this is a character that she can very much relate to.

In a previous interview, Vina shared that she can clearly remember the time where she described herself as “crazy” in love is when she got into a relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Robin Padilla.

She shared:

“Very clear to me, medyo matagal na—yung first boyfriend ko na si Robin [Padilla]. Yun ang naalala ko na sobra kong ewan. Yung daddy ko, e, wala nang magawa sa akin. Si Mama Mina [the late Mina Aragon], e, walang nagawa noong 18th birthday ko.”

“Dapat may iba akong escort, e, that time, hindi ako tinantanan ni Robin kaya siya ang naging escort ko sa 18th birthday ko sa party ko. Naging Sisa naman si Mama Mina sa akin,” Vina continued.

During that time, the action star had earned a reputation as a womanizer which reportedly became the subject of Vina’s parents’ disapproval of her involvement with Robin.

“Parang siguro, oo, kasi yun ang mga naalala ko. I had problems with my family. Kasi, wala na silang magawa, naloka-loka na ako. Si Mama Mina, si Tito Vic [del Rosario].”

She went on,

“Oh my God! Kasi, noong generation ni Robin noon, parang lahat, nagiging Sisa. Yun ang peak ni Robin, di ba? Parang lahat yata, na-in love sa kanya. Yung mga leading ladies niya, isa na ako roon!”
