Look: Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz Stunned The Netizens With Her Throwback Photos

Philippines is among the top 5 countries that have produced the most Miss Universe titleholders. To date, we are in fourth place, producing four winners since this prestigious global beauty pageant started on June 28, 1952, which was then held in Long Beach, California.
Gloria Maria Aspillera Diaz or professionally known today as a Filipina actress and TV host Gloria Diaz is the first Pinay beauty queen to win the title of Miss Universe in 1969, followed by Margarita Moran who won in 1973, Pia Alonzo-Wurtzbach in 2015, and the fourth and most recent Filipina who was able to bag the Miss Universe crown is none other than Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
Being the first Pinay Miss Universe titleholder, Gloria, who was 18 years old at the time did not disappoint and sailed throughout all the pageant’s events that led up to the finals at Miami Beach Auditorium.
In fact, she is also one of the crowds’ early favorites because of her looks and, more importantly, her witty personality. Many people would probably remember her on how she flawlessly and confidently answered the question given to her during the Miss Universe 1969 Q&A portion.
She was asked:
“In the next day or so, a man will land on the moon. If a man from the moon landed in your hometown, what would you do to entertain him?”
Gloria’s straight, simple, and very witty answer was.
“Oh, just the same things I do. I think if he has been on the moon for so long, I think when he comes over he wants to change, I guess.”
She is already 69 years old but she still continues to mesmerize us anew with her ageless beauty.
Just recently, this former beauty queen left many netizens astounded when she posted a series of stunning throwback photos online.
Upon seeing her photos, fans and supporters of Gloria could not help but recall that exact moment when she brought home the first Miss Universe crown that had given so much pride to our country.
