Pinoy Celebrity Couples Who Came From Rival Networks

These five celebrity couples have proven that working in rival networks is not a hindrance in finding the love of their life.

Without further ado, here are some of your favorite Kapuso and Kapamilya stars who crossed the boundaries of their networks for love.

Judy Ann Santos & Ryan Agoncillo

Juday and her husband Ryan Agoncillo had their first project together in 2004 on the ABS-CBN fantasy series “Krystala.” Unknown to many at that time, their relationship blossomed while working on this series.

On April 28, the couple married in a private wedding ceremony at San Juan de Nepomuceno Church in San Juan, Batangas. They now have 3 adorable kids: Yohan, Lucho, and Luna.

That year, Ryan also transferred to GMA network and has been, for many years, a mainstay in the GMA-7 noontime show “Eat Bulaga!” while Juday remains one of the most bankable Kapamilya stars.

Maine Mendoza & Arjo Atayde

25-year-old Kapuso celebrity Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza or better known as Maine Mendoza and former FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano actor, Arjo Atayde first stirred speculation about their relationship when they were spotted together at a restaurant, followed by numerous sightings of their apparent dates.

This was back in 2018 when Maine was doing the movie, Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles, alongside another Kapamilya actor, Coco Martin. It also happened that Arjo was part of the cast of this Metro Manila Film Festival movie entry.

It was in March 2019 when they finally decided to confirm their real status, confirming to the public that they’ve been dating, but it was later revealed that the two officially became a couple in December 2018.

Kylie Padilla & Aljur Abrenica

Kylie and Aljur Abrenica were both GMA-7 talents when they met at a Wushu workshop in 2011, the two described their romance as “love at first sight.”

Although they started dating that year, Kylie and Aljur appear to have ended their relationship in 2014. But after two years, it turned out that they reconnected and rekindled their romance.

In 2017, the couple announced their engagement, followed by another great news that Kylie is pregnant with their first child. Kylie then gave birth to their son, Alas Joaquin, on August 4, 2017. That time, Aljur was introduced as one of the new talents of ABS-CBN.

The couple officially tied the knot on December 11, 2018. A year later, Aljur and Kylie welcomed their second son Axl Romeo.

Mika Dela Cruz & Nash Aguas

Young celebrity couple Nash Aguas and Mika Dela Cruz were both talents from the Kapamilya network. Their closeness started when they worked together on kiddie gag show Goin’ Bulilit.

But because of their age, Mika’s family opposed the idea of her getting into a relationship with her fellow young actor.

The two former child stars moved to separate ways when Mika became a talent in the Kapuso network, their communication has stopped during that time. But after many years, Nash and Mika met again in mid-2017.

It was in October 2018 when they finally made their relationship official.

Melai Cantiveros & Jason Francisco

We all have witnessed the love story of former Pinoy Big Brother housemates Jason Francisco and Melai Cantiveros. From being mere strangers inside the PBB house in 2009 to an unexpected love story that started to bloom and resulted in a loveteam “MelaSon” that the Pinoy viewers admired.

After they stepped out of the house, the two revealed the real score between them and faced lots of controversies. But they proved to everyone that their relationship cannot be destroyed when they tied the knot on December 9, 2013.

Several months later the couple welcomed their first child named Amelia Lucille, or simply “Mela”, and another daughter, Stella, who was born on April 9, 2017.

For most of their careers, Jason and Melai have been a talent of the Kapamilya network, but Jason transferred to GMA-7 in 2017.
