Judy Ann Santos Creates DIY Face Shields For Covid-19 Frontliners
41-year-old Kapamilya actress Judy Ann Santos is one of the many celebrities who have decided to help coronavirus or Covid-19 frontliners who risk their lives every day just to ensure our safety and health amid this time of crisis.
For her part, the kind-hearted celebrity mom made DIY or do-it-yourself face shields for the medical staff or healthcare workers who are known to be more at risk, since they are in close contact with the people who are infected with the disease.
In order to protect themselves from this virus, healthcare workers need to wear PPE of personal protective equipment, such as protective suits, goggles, and N95 masks. However, this also became one of the many problems that many hospitals are facing right now due to the shortage of the said protective equipment.
Juday offered her help by becoming a volunteer of @faceshieldsforfrontliners and creating improvised face shields at her home.
In the 1-minute video she posted on her Instagram account last Thursday, March 26, Juday explained how they created this DIY face shield using materials such as foam, acetate, garter, and an old folder. She also used a puncher to create the hole where the garter will be placed and an optional ruler for those who need a guide on measuring.
The celebrity mom wrote in the caption:
“Para sa ating mga frontliners.. nag volunteer kami to make faceshields.. all our materials our provided by our friends from @faceshieldsforfrontliners , we have a deadline tom. Morning.. and we are more than happy to do this for them.. magtulungan po tayo.. I will be coming up with a video on how to make these face shields… for now, God bless us all. Lalo na ang mga nagbubuwis ng mga buhay nila para sa kaligtasan nating lahat…️️”
As of this writing, her post already garnered over 500k views and tons of positive comments from the netizens.
