Get To Know Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach’s Supportive Sister Sarah Wurztbach

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is the third Pinay beauty queen to win the title of Miss Universe, following Gloria Diaz who won in 1969 and Margarita Moran who won in 1973.

Pia was born in Stuttgart, Germany, to a German father, Uwe Wurtzbach, and Filipino mother, Cheryl Alonzo Tyndall. She also has a younger sister named Sarah Wurtzbach.

In a previous interview on the morning talk show “Magandang Buhay,” the 2015 Miss Universe shared how supportive her younger sister was. Pia described Sarah as an honest and vocal person, who sometimes act older than her. She then added that her younger sister is strict to her sometimes, especially when it comes to dating men.

She also revealed that it was Sarah who pushed her to join Bb Pilipinas, despite failing twice in the said competition.

Wurtzbach, who is formerly known professionally as Pia Romero is also a model, actress, host and TV personality. She was included on the Star Circle Batch 11 and managed by ABS-CBN Corporation’s talent agency, Star Magic. Pia also became part of several TV series and shows in the Kapamilya network and appeared in several movies such as Kung Ako Na Lang Sana, All My Life, All About Love, Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad, and My Perfect You.

It’s also not a secret to many that before she was able to bring home the crown, Pia has joined Binibining Pilipinas pageant three times, where she finally won Binibining Pilipinas 2015. Later on, she represented our country at the global Miss Universe 2015 where she was crowned as the most beautiful woman in the universe.

This 64th Miss Universe pageant was held on December 20, 2015, at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, became controversial and received worldwide media attention due to the pageant’s host Steve Harvey’s mistake for announcing Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutiérrez, as the winner. However, a few moments after she was crowned, Harvey stepped in and said he had to apologize as the correct Miss Universe 2015, is none other than Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
