On February 20, there’s a report that circulated online claiming that Matteo Guidicelli and Sarah Geronimo would be getting married that same day. This was based on the announcement of the columnist Ricky Lo in his report earlier that day.
He said that he got this news from a highly-reliable source, who revealed the two applied for a marriage license last February 3, and they will have a secret wedding which will be attended by Matteo’s family. However, it’s not sure whether Sarah’s parents will also be there since it was known that her family is against the planned union.
That evening, it appeared that Ricky Lo’s report was right. The celebrity power couple’s wedding was indeed scheduled on Thursday night at Shangri-La Hotel in Bonifacio Global City. When the 31-year-old “Popstar Royalty’s” mother, Mommy Divine learned about this wedding that she was probably not aware of, she reportedly went straight to the venue as she wanted to talk with her daughter, but she was not permitted to go inside.
This is when a confrontation happened as Matteo accused the close-in bodyguard of his fiancée named Jerry Tamara for leaking the information to Sarah’s mom about their secret wedding. The actor reportedly punched the said bodyguard in the neck.
According to an interview with Taguig Police chief, Colonel Celso Rodriguez, Tamara went to their office to complain about the actor.
“The close-in bodyguard, Tamara, went to our office and reported that he was punched by Guidicelli on the neck after he accused him that he told Mommy Divine about their wedding,” the police chief explained.
It was indicated in the police blotter that Tamara reported to the police that the incident happened around 11 PM when he arrived with Mommy Divine at the venue and was asking to speak with Sarah because she was not informed of the wedding. Matteo came out angry, and this was when the physical altercation took place.
“Pinagdududahan na raw ni Mommy Divine na magpapakasal nang lihim ‘yung dalawa kaya inutusan niya si Tamara na i-inform siya sa pinupuntahan nila,” Rodriguez added.
But although there’s no formal complaint filed against the actor as of the moment, the police chief clarified that Tamara did not mention that he will not file charges anymore. There’s also a report that the said bodyguard went to Taguig-Pateros District Hospital to have his medical examination and medical report that he could use in filing a complaint against Matteo.
