Just last December 2019, Maine Mendoza and boyfriend Arjo Atayde celebrated their first anniversary as a couple. Maine posted a picture of them on a yacht saying
“happy first” with a heart emoji and Arjo replied saying “I’m crying.. I love you.”

Despite the couple’s sweetness to each other, some fans just do not support Arjo to be Maine’s boyfriend. Twitter users who are also supporter of ‘AlDub’ love team were using the hashtag #NoToArjoTheUser which attacks Arjo Atayde.

Maine in return tweeted the below to depend his real-life boyfriend.
“Wow, some “fans” made #NoToArjoTheUser trend today. Congrats! But I say #YesToArjo. [heart emoji]”

Arjo Atayde’s mom, Sylvia Sanchez, supports their relationship. Recently she posted a picture of their family with Maine Mendoza. She also added picture showing how sweet the couple is while Arjo puts his head on Maine’s shoulder while she is browsing her phone for Videos where she taught them how to dance Sarah Geronimo’s ‘Tala’ dance craze.

“Coach @mainedcm thank you ❤️at pinasaya mo kaming lahat sa kakulitan mong mapag-Tala kami haha ang cute mo Maine at mahal ka ng buong pamilya dahil sa kabutihan mo at higit sa lahat nabully mo napahalakhak at napagtala mo ang asawa ko hahaha❤️?”
“Coach @mainedcm thank you❤️ because you made all of us happy because of your persistent we did ‘Tala’ haha you are cute and the whole family love you because of your kindness and above all you have bullied my husband, made him laugh at made him dance ‘Tala’ hahaha ❤️?”
Posted Sylvia. She recalls how she felt glad and thankful watching her family having fun including Arjo’s grandmother Pilar Atayde.

When they previously posted a picture of their family dinner with Maine Mendoza on November2019, some netizens, presumably AlDub supporters started some issue regarding it. Even Sylvia received negative comments and accusations from them, but she insisted that bad comments should not control them and what matters is Maine and his son’s happiness.
