Ferdinand Hipolito Navarro or better known as the Kapamilya actor-comedian and TV host Vhong Navarro always makes our days extra fun as he joins the other comedian-hosts such as the “Unkabogable” Vice Ganda, Jhong Hilario and Ryan Bang while exchanging jokes with one another in the afternoon show “It’s Showtime.”
With his super busy schedule in all of his showbiz commitments and his daily personal tasks, especially now that he just tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Tanya Winona, some people couldn’t help but wonder how a Vhong Navarro manages to relieve the stress and problems that come his way.
The 42-year-old actor shared the answer last year in one of the episodes of “Rated K,” saying that what keeps him calm in the middle of all the pressure of his demanding career is his huge collection of a Japanese collectible toy called Bearbrick.
Bearbrick or rendered as “[email protected]” is a collectible toy designed and produced by the Japanese company MediCom Toy Incorporated.
Its name is derived from the fact that the figure is a cartoon-style representation of a bear of an anthropomorphized bear with a potbelly.
This toy has nine parts including its head, a torso, a hip and a pair of arms, hands, and legs. These movable parts allow eight points of articulation making a swivel head, waist, wrists, and ball joint arms and legs.
He said during the interview that this collection serves as his outlet when his facing some difficulties in life. It all started way back in 2017, which he considered as the most painful days in his life since his father, Daddy Danilo got hospitalized and eventually passed away in the last quarter of this year.
“Sobrang ang bigat ng pakiramdam ko… Hindi ako pumapasok sa Showtime, so parang naghahanap ako ng outlet para sumaya. Kasi kahit saan ako pumunta, talagang hindi ko maalis sa isipan ko ‘yong daddy ko na nasa ICU. Natutuwa ako kapag bumibili ako kasi parang nalilimutan ko panandalian ‘yong problema ko,”
The Kapamilya actor-host already has more than 100 pieces of this Bearbrick characters during the said interview, and it’s continuously growing.
It can be seen in the video that he has characters from Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sesame Street, Kingsman, Coco, Looney Tunes, The Muppets and Planet of the Apes, Garfield, Kill Bill, Mr. Incredible, The Rocketeer, Pennywise, and even the music legend Michael Jackson.
