The longtime employee of City General Services Office, Tatay Melchor Duka, 61, was called during their flag ceremony at the Manila City Hall last January 20, to come up on stage and was told about the reward that the kind-hearted Mayor prepared for him for his more than 3 decades of public service.
“Today is a perfect day to tell you that no one could do a better job than the job you do.”

It can be seen that Mayor Isko Moreno together with the City’s Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna gifted Tatay Melchor with a smartphone and the key to his new house that was built under the city’s housing program.
“Siya po si Melchor, empleyado ng ating City General Services Office. 33 taon na po siyang nagtatrabaho sa City Hall”
Yorme said in the post.

Tatay Melchor’s home is located in Cavite, that’s why he chose to sleep in the city hall every weekday and only returns to his home during Saturdays to spend time with his family.
“Bilang pagkilala sa kanyang inialay na serbisyo sa lungsod, ginawaran natin siya hindi lang ng smartphone pati na rin pabahay para sa kanyang pamilya. Mabuhay po kayo!”
He added.
The mobile phone that Tatay Melchor received was from the Administrative Order No. 29 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte. This order aims to provide financial support to job order and contract of service workers.

Based on their records, the mayor approved a bonus of P2,000 each for almost 4,000 job order employees in his city.
