Look: Melai Cantiveros And Jason Francisco Helped In Packing Relief Goods For The Victims Of Taal Eruption
Many Filipinos have been offering their prayers and help on social media following the ashfall and earthquakes caused by Taal Volcano’s steam-driven eruption that occurred last Sunday, January 12.
There are also celebrities and other well-known personalities who used their social media influence and asked their followers to extend help to the victims by organizing outreach program and fundraising drives, or any help that they can provide.
One of them is the couple, Melai and Jason Francisco or collectively known as the “MelaSon,” the naturally funny pair that many people have loved since their Pinoy Big Brother stint.
In a recent Facebook post of a certain Inday Rica Castaño, she first mentioned that they already started packing relief goods that will be sent to the Mt. Taal eruption victims. She also said that they were joined by the celebrity couple Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco and their two daughters Mela and Stela.
The netizen wrote in a post last Tuesday, January 14:
“Simulan na namin ang packing ng mga relief goods para sa mga nasalanta ng Bulkan Taal! Kunting tulong para sa mga taong nangangailangan ng pagkaen, tubig , kape, bigas, de lata, noddles! Sa ganitong paraan lng namin maipapadama ang malasakit namin sa kanila sa kunteng paraan! Kasama namin ang Buong MELASON FAMILY na always anjan walang dalawang isip kung tumulong! Together with our baby cuties Mela and Stela! Tulong din daw sila! Ang cute ng mga bata. Thank you Lord!”
In a separate post, Inday gave an update that they’re almost done packing the second batch of the relief goods and it’s ready for delivery. She also revealed that it was the “MELASON family,” who initiated this donation drive.
“Second batch. Patapos na ng packing! Ready na for delivery! Thank you so much Lord sana maraming matulungan neto. Thank you so much MELASON family sa pag gathered sa aming lahat para magtulungan para pag pack ng mga relief goods at eto na natapos na! “Lets do this! TAAL, BATANGAS HERE WE COME.”
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was able to reach the lady netizen who shared the post. In their conversation via Facebook messenger, she said that they will distribute all of these relief goods in the affected areas of Batangas that were not reached by other donation drives. This will happen on Wednesday, January 15, and Jason will personally join them in the actual distribution.
