Acoustic band MYMP (Make Your Momma Proud) former lead vocalist Julie Iris “Juris” Fernandez is now enjoying her life as a mother to her two adorable kids, and a loving wife to husband, IT executive Gavin Lim.
The 41-year old singer/songwriter first rose to fame in 2003 when she was introduced as the lead singer of one of the country’s best-selling OPM bands – M.YM.P.
However, she left the group in late 2009 after citing what they called “irreconcilable differences” with one of the members of their band. She later on signed with Star Music as a solo artist and released her Juris’ first solo album “Now Playing” in February 2010.
MYMP released their first album in 2003 Soulful Acoustic, some of their hits included the original tune “A Little Bit” song revivals of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors,” Sting’s “Every Little Thing (He Does is Magic),” The Bangles’ “Eternal Flame,” The Jets’ “You Got It All” and Bob Marley’s “Waiting in Vain.”
On November 19, 2011, Juris tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Gavin Lim, who used to be a fan of the local singer. Their wedding was held at Mary the Queen Parish Church in Greenhills, San Juan City.
The couple’s first child was born on August 16, 2015, Juris and Gavin named their son as Giddy.
After their son turned 1 year old, Juris announced through a social media post that she is already four months pregnant with her second child. They welcomed their baby girl named Geordi on January 10, 2017.
