Many people would agree that the veteran actress Geraldine Schaer Bonnevie or better known as Dina Bonnevie is one of the most iconic stars of her generation time. The actress was also considered as one of the most beautiful celebrity faces in the ‘80s.
The 58-year-old actress was recently featured on the Facebook group “Memories of Old Manila,” where one of the members named Ssenh Pascua shared a stunning photo of Dina Bonnevie in her younger years.

The netizen wrote a caption that says: “Dina Bonnevie (in the) 80s. Siya ‘yong gandang hindi nakakasawang tignan.” [Dina Bonnevie in the 80s. You won’t get tired of staring at her beautiful face.]
This Facebook post received tons of comments from many netizens who expressed their admiration for the actress’s timeless beauty, while some also recalled Dina’s’ younger years in showbiz.
Before she joined the entertainment industry, Dina was first noticed by the public when she won first-runner up in the Miss Magnolia 1979 Beauty Contest. That year, she got her first acting role in the movie “Temptation Island,” with Joey Gosingfiao at the helm.
After that, Regal Films launched her as the lead star in the movie “Katorse,” along with the actors Alfie Anido and Gabby Concepcion. This film via Joey Gosingfiao also introduced the young Gabby.
The 58-year-old actress was also notable for playing the role of Corazon in Tinik sa dibdib, in 1985, where she won the 1986 FAP (Film Academy of the Philippine) and Famas (Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences) Award for Best Supporting Actress, and also for her role as Christine Doliente in Magdusa ka!, in 1986, Dina took home the 1987 FAP, FAMAS and CMMA Award for Best Actress for this film.
But aside from these awards, Dina Bonnevie also received other acting nominations for her films: Kung kasalanan man (1989), FAMAS; Bakit kay tagal ng sandali? (1990), FAP; Tanging yaman (2000), which won Best Picture in nearly all the local awards ceremonies and gave her Gawad Urian Best Supporting Actress nomination; American Adobo (2001), Gawad Urian Best Actress nomination; and another Gawad Urian Best Actress nomination for Bridal Shower (2004).
The award-winning actress also starred in several movies under Viva Films, including “Sana’y Wala nang Wakas” (1986), “Alabok sa Ulap” (1987), “Ang Lahat ng Ito Pati ang Langit” (1989), “Ang Babaing Nawawala sa Sarili” (1990); “Kung Kasalanan Man” (1990), and “Gumapang ka sa Lusak (1990).
