Celebrity mom-of-three Sunshine Cruz revealed that it was their manager, Arnold Vegafria’s idea not to use “Montano” for their screen names.
It will be recalled that the 42-year-old actress filed a petition to annul her marriage with Cesar Montano, way back in 2013. But it was only this year when her annulment case was officially granted by the court.
Cesar and Sunshine have three daughters, Angelina, Samantha, and Chesca, who used their mom’s last name in their screen names.
For those who are wondering why the reason was recently shared by their mom herself in her contract signing with Em-core Dot Net where she and her daughters are the new endorsers.
According to a report by GMA News, Sunshine said that they believe it will be an advantage for her daughters to use the surname “Cruz,” since they’re more into singing and already starting to create a name in this industry.
Her eldest Angelina, just signed recently with Universal Records and her second daughter, Samantha, will also be joining the same record company soon.
The Cruz family members are known to be great musicians. Just take for example, celebrities like Tirso Cruz III, Sheryl Cruz, Timmy Cruz, and Donna Cruz. Given that, their manager Arnold Vegafria suggested that they should also use it for their screen names.
Moreover, using their mom’s surname instead of “Montano” is not a one-sided decision, Vegafria clarified that he even consulted Cesar about this and he agreed to this.
“Nagkita kami sa Las Vegas. Sabi niya, ‘It’s okay, anak ko pa rin ‘yan, dugo ko pa rin ‘yan,’” the manager said. Cesar continued, “Screen name lang naman ‘yon eh.”
Sunshine’s 18-year-old daughter shared in the same interview that she feels that her current screen name would really help her career in the music industry.
“I feel that the screen name could actually help cause I feel that everyone in the industry has one so since our name is Cruz,” Angelina said.
She even cited her Tita Donna Cruz as an example, her real surname is Yrastorza but she also used Cruz as her screen name, “Like Tita Donna Cruz, it’s really Cruzes are musically inclined so I feel that it could help us but it’s not our real name it’s not legally changed or anything, it’s just a screen name.
