Look: JC De Vera Proud Of Being A Family Man “Quit na ako ng mga gimik…good time”

Seasoned actor John Carlo De Vera or better known by his screen name JC De Vera is one proud father to his 1-year-old daughter, Lana Athena, with his non-showbiz partner, Rikkah Alyssa Cruz.

JC and his wife, Rikkah, welcomed their first child Lana Athena last year, she will turn 2 this May 2020.

Browsing JC’s social media account, you will see that he’s really enjoying his life as a family man as he often shares his sweet bonding moments with Baby Lana and Rikkah.

In a recent interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the actor said that he already bid goodbye to his “binata” days, no more gimmicks or having good times with his friends.

He said, ”I’m still the hard-working JC na nakilala ninyo, it’s just that naging family guy ako. Nag-quit na ako ng mga gimik, nag-quit na ako ng mga good time.

“At mas serious ako ngayon kasi siyempre, yung responsibility ko on my shoulders, mas iba na compared dun sa before. It’s still the same, mas nadagdagan lang talaga ng responsibility,” he added.

The hands-on dad went on to share that when he’s away from work, he spends all of his time with his family, taking care of them, preparing meals, bonding with his wife and daughter, and other “daddy duties.”

“Mas naka-focus na ako on my responsibility on being a father, and being a good husband sa asawa ko. Nabawasan lang yung ano, hindi na ako binata, hindi na ako, alam mo yun, puro akin.

“Most of the time, I spend it with my family. I cook for them, I take care of them, nilalabas ko sila, dinadala ko sila sa ibang lugar.

“Yung buong buhay ko ngayon, umiikot sa kanila. And lahat ng purpose ko ngayon sa buhay ay lahat dahil sa kanila.”

This interview took place last November 22, at Limbaga 77 restaurant, Quezon City when the 33-year-old actor attended the media conference for his upcoming movie with Kapamilya actress Roxanne Barcelo, “Love Is Love.”

JC will play the role of a motivational speaker in this movie, while her leading actress Roxanne Barcelo is a transgender woman.

During the interview, the actor was also asked if what will be his reaction if the same thing happened to him in real life, to which he replied,

“The initial reaction siyempre, magagalit ka. Iyon yung initial, di ba? You’ll get disappointed, mad, angry, frustrated, pero I think if that’s real love, then itutuloy mo rin.

“Initially, magagalit ka talaga pero, for me, if it’s something real, and kung iyon yung talagang nararamdaman ko is love, then it’s okay.”

“Love Is Love” is a romantic comedy movie directed by GB Sampedro, the movie will be shown in cinemas nationwide on December 4.
