Get To Know The Other Side Of Kapamilya Actress Ivana Alawi Behind The Camera

Kapamilya actress Ivana Alawi first caught the attention of the public when she played the role of the alluring friend of Mich, portrayed by Barbie Imperial in the afternoon drama Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Araw Gabi.

Right after that, she played the role of Madonna, who is the girlfriend of the late Eddie Garcia’s character Gustavo in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. She also appeared once in the sketch comedy TV series Home Sweetie Home, as a girl named Violet.

Ivana got her first major role in April when she starred as the goal-driven champion debater and lawyer Lolita del Rio in Sino Ang Maysala? Mea Culpa.

Aside from her overall admirable physical appearance, this half-Filipino and Morrocan Kapamilya actress is also winning the hearts of many Filipinos because of her great personality.

Many were also impressed when the other side of Ivana was shown during her recent guesting on the late-night talk show Tonight With Boy Abunda.

Ivana is second to the youngest of four siblings born to a Filipino mother, Fatima Marbella, and a foreigner father, Samier Al-Alawi, who lives in Bahrain. Their family also experienced some problems in the past that even resulted in her parents’ separation.

During her interview with the King of Talk, she shared that she is thankful that she was able to fix all the misunderstandings she had with her father before he passed away last year.

Ivana also opened up on how supportive and generous she is to her family. She even came to a point where she decided to take responsibility in providing for their family when her father stopped supporting them financially.

“Ever since my dad left us way back, when he stopped supporting us, inako ko. Sabi ko, kasi kawawa naman si mommy. Apat na nga kami, siya na nga naglabas sa’min, siya nagluwal sa’min… siya pa ‘yong magpapakahirap hanggang ngayon? Sabi ko, it’s my turn. I have to take responsibility if no one’s gonna take responsibility,” she shared.

Tito Boy also asked Ivana about her family’s reaction with her career right now, including her hot image, to which she answered that she is so happy to have a loving and supportive family.

She went on to say that she believes that they’re all proud of her, especially her youngest sibling. She then added,

“Sometimes I tell her: “Hoy, ‘wag mo ako masyado i-idolize ha.” Kasi siyempre, I do hot photos and stuff. But I mean, sabi ko: “You know your limits.” Sabi niya, “Of course, ate!” She always takes my photos. Gano’n siya ka-supportive.”

The former FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano actress gained more fans and supporters when they saw her real personality behind the camera and what kind of “ate” she is to her young celebrity sister Mona, through their vlogs on YouTube.

Ivana’s younger sister Mona Al-Alawi or better known by her stage name Mona Louise Rey is also part of the showbiz industry. She started as a child star in 2011, where she played as Jennifer Montereal in “Munting Heredera.”
