24-year-old Kapuso star Maine Mendoza looked back on the failed audition she did for Pinoy Big Brother 737 way back in 2015.
But although the talented young lady didn’t make it as one of Big Brother’s housemates, another door opens for her in the rival network only a few months after this failed audition.

She was first introduced as part of GMA 7’s noontime show Eat Bulaga as Yaya Dub, but later on, she formed an unscripted pairing with the KapusoTV host-actor Alden Richards and was dubbed as the phenomenal ‘AlDub’ loveteam. Before that, Maine’s Dubsmash videos are already making waves online.
The talented Kapuso actress recently collaborated with the Kapamilya actor Carlo Aquino for a romantic-comedy movie titled “Isa Pa With Feelings.”

Based on a report by ABS-CBN News, Maine revealed that she was invited in the past to audition and become a Pinoy Big Brother housemate. Since she really wants to become part of the popular reality TV show, she immediately grabbed that opportunity.
“Naisipan ko lang mag-audition, may nagsabi sa akin, may nag-invite kung gusto ko bang mag-audition for PBB. Ako naman, even before, honest naman ako na gusto ko talagang makasali ng PBB. So nakita rin na baka eto na rin yung chance. So yun na nga yung chance, pero hindi pa yon yung tamang panahon,” the “Isa Pa With Feelings” actress said.
She went on to share more of her experience on the day of her audition, Maine added that she arrived at the venue at 6 a.m and stayed until 1 a.m. But although she went home sad that day, the Kapuso actress said that she still enjoyed her whole experience.

It will be recalled that last year, Director Lauren Dyogi, Head of TV Entertainment of ABS-CBN and the director of ‘Pinoy Big Brother’, showed the audition video of Maine Mendoza in his first vlog.
The video shows Maine wearing a checkered top, she introduced herself as a 20-year-old culinary arts graduate from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, and currently working at her family’s business, a well-known gasoline station.
She also mentioned her Dubsmash videos, which launched her to Internet stardom at the time.
