21-year-old Kapamilya actress Barbie Imperial recently joined the club of local celebrities who also ventured into the world of business. She also said that for now, she would give more of her attention on this, rather than entertaining new suitors.
In an interview on the morning talk show “Magandang Buhay” for their episode last Friday, October 18, the young actress shared that she is now part-owner of the local resto and bar, Tipsy Pig, as she really wanted to do something that can consume her time a week after breaking up with her last boyfriend.
“Yung night na nakasama ko sila Marco (Gumabao), parang first week yon na naging single ako. So naghahanap talaga ako ng gagawin, e yung grupo namin nila Marco talaga yung to-the-rescue sa akin nung night na ‘yon,” paliwanag ni Barbie kasama ang pinsan at business partner na si Marco.
Luckily, she found help through a fellow Kapamilya artist, Marco Gumabao, who also happens to be her distant cousin. He encouraged her to invest in the said restobar, where he is also a part-business owner.
She went on to share that she thinks that what happened is somehow a blessing in disguise as she is now more focused at work, and in this new business partnership.
“For me blessing din na nangyari ‘yon, kasi mas naging open ako na [magtayo] ng business, mas naging focused ako sa work ko,” she added.
Although she didn’t mention the name of Barbie’s former boyfriend, it was said that it the incident happened in the middle of her taping in the afternoon series “Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Araw Gabi.” In this TV series, the beautiful actress was paired with JM de Guzman.
Barbie also opened up about her plan on investing in another business with the celebrity turned entrepreneur, Ara Mina, for the new branch of her Hazelberry cafe.
“Si Ate Ara kasi andami niya ring business e. Grabe, nakaka-inspire siya, ang dami niyang work, ang dami niyang ginagawa. Actually magtatayo pa siya ng isang Hazelberry, tapos gusto niya mag-invest din ako doon,” the actress continued.
The young actress is currently the female lead star of “Taiwan That You Love,” a new I want digital series and the first story shot out of the country. Barbie played as Ivi, a girl who decided to live her dreams in Taiwan when she followed her longtime boyfriend, Eric Paulo Angeles. In this series, she is also with the Taiwanese actor Stephen Rong as Wei Ting.
