Joshua Garcia Serves As The Special Guest Of A Debutante For Her Crazy Rich Asians-Themed Party

Many people went crazy after watching the film adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s bestselling novel Crazy Rich Asians, especially when the royal wedding scene of the film’s main characters Colin and Araminta took place.

But just recently, this beautiful young lady named Christine Lim Catacutan caught the attention of many netizens when she celebrated her 18th birthday party the “Crazy Rich Asian’s” way. Christine is senior high and an aspiring actress-performer. She is the daughter of Capas, Tarlac Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan, with his wife, Lenny Lim-Catacutan.

This grand event was held at the grand ballroom of Clark Marriott Hotel in Mabalacat, Pampanga, last October 12, and was attended by more than 350 guests.

Meanwhile, another highlight from this Crazy Rich Asians-themed debut party was when the Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia showed up as the 18th dance of Christine on her very special night. Aside from the special dance number, Joshua also serenades her with some of her favorite songs.

In an exclusive report by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Christine shared that she has known Joshua since 2017 as the Kapamilya actor was one of the guest performers who performed during the “Capas Day” celebration of that year.

“Joshua was my 18th dance during the 18 roses part of my celebration… definitely the highlight of my night, especially when he sang my favorite songs.

“We first met at the Capas Day 2017, my dad invited him to be one of the guest performers. From there on, he has been my inspiration. Aside from his head-turning charm, I admire his humility and his goodness to people.’ Magaan siyang kasama’ is the proper term because he is just like everyone else, simple and not a superstar.” she shared.

Sharing more of her favorite part of the grand celebration, “It felt like there were butterflies in my stomach. I can’t contain the ‘kilig’ because his charm was really irresistible that night. But I got myself to calm down when he started singing my favorite song, ‘Everything’ by Michael Bublé and ‘Binibini’ by Janno Gibbs, and we managed to share a small conversation.

“Still, he was the same Joshua I knew back in 2017,” Christine added.

The birthday celebrant revealed that she really had some hard time deciding which theme to choose from, but eventually she opted for a debut party based on Kevin Kwan’s bestselling novel.

Christine said, “It was actually the theme. I was very indecisive on the theme, plus I was constantly multi-tasking between preparing everything for my debut and my competition in Journalism. It took me a little time to pick a theme before finally settling down with a Kevin Kwan novel-inspired party.

“As any other debutante would have it, I wanted my party to look and feel like it has been directly lifted off a fairy tale, but, at the same time, I want it to have a dash of spunk.

According to Christine, the party planning itself took almost two years, and she was very hands-on in all the details. Luckily she has a very supportive mother who also helped throughout the whole preparation.

Christine said, “I was onto every detail of my party. My mom helped me a lot, too—from attending late-night meetings to hotel reservations to food-tasting and a lot more.”

“Envisioning, more so executing, a party as opulent and as spunky as the one I had taken two years to come to life,” she added.

Other important details like her lavish ball gown, which was created by the same designer who created the iconic lava gown of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, Mak Tumang. While the red, sweetheart-cut ball gown was made by Michael Leyva.

The beautiful debutante was styled by Jeff Galang, she also invited make-up artist Effie Go Iñigo and hairstylist Antonio Papa.

The famous photographer and videographer “Nice Print Photography” for the photos and video coverage, and Aileen Conde of Honey Glaze Cakes for the multi-layered cake decked out in colorful flowers.
