Iya Villania Shared How Her Relationship With Drew Arellano Started, Dapat Siya Yung Magiging Tulay

Filipino-Australian television presenter, actress, and host Raelene Elaine Ebaler Villania-Arellano or better known as Iya Villania married her boyfriend of ten years, fellow actor and host Drew Arellano on January 31, 2014, in a wedding ceremony held at Meditation Point, Kawayan Cove, Nasugbu, Batangas.

Many admired their strong and sweet relationship, especially now that they have two adorable sons, 3-year-old Antonio Primo, and their second child Alonzo Leon, who was born on August 19, 2018. With that, fans and supporters of this celebrity power couple couldn’t help but wonder how and when did their love story took place.

This question was answered through the episode of the Kapuso documentary show “Tunay na Buhay” last Wednesday, October 16, where Iya revealed that her husband was supposed to be just a bridge for a common friend of theirs who liked her.

Iya and Drew first met when they became one of our favorite on-screen loveteams in the youth-oriented show “Click” back in 2003. Behind the scenes, the two teen stars were also good friends.

The 33-year-old celebrity mom first shared on what are the characteristics that she likes most with her husband.

Iya said, “Noon palang nakita ko na how family-oriented he is, how close he is to his papa, his siblings.”

She went on to share, “All the more I came to love him as he got older kasi naging atleta pa siya and that’s like super type ko.”

Later on, the beautiful TV host-actress shared details on how their friendship grew deeper.

This happened when one of their guy friends, asked Drew to act as a bridge for him and Iya.

She continued, “Siguro doon na lang na realize ni Drew na teka lang, type ko rin si Iya eh.” Then after that, the two spent more time hanging out together.

In the same interview, Iya also revealed that she was actually the first one to ask Drew about the real label of their relationship, which, according to Iya, Drew’s answer to her question was, “I think I’m ready.”

After being together for eight years, Drew proposed to the TV host-actress during their trip to Europe.

When asked if she cried during the said proposal, Iya said no, as she taught that it’s only a joke, “Akala ko joke!” she continued, laughing. “‘Yung singsing na nilabas niya napaka-parang key ring.”
