The beautiful family of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, together with their super adorable kids, never fail to make headlines whenever they share their latest photos online.
Aside from the good looks that the Kapuso Primetime King and Queen already have, they are also considered by many as their celebrity “fitspiration.” But what makes this lovely celebrity couple even more admirable is on how they managed to stay fit and healthy not only for themselves but also for their growing family.
The 39-year-old action-drama actor, who is now a father of two —3-year-old daughter Maria Letizia “Zia,” and the newest addition to the Dantes family, Jose Sixto IV or baby Ziggy attended at the Ensure Gold press event held last July.
In an interview with ABS-CBN Lifestyle, the hunky matinee idol shared some updates about their life as parents. He also revealed that he and his wife Marian Rivera are back to the basics again on learning how to parent a newborn. The celebrity couple welcomed baby Ziggy on April 16, 2019.
“Surprisingly, hindi namin naalala noong nagkaroon kami ng first child. Pinagdaanan namin yung first milestones…pero parang bago ulit—which is good kasi ayaw namin maging systematic na, ‘Oh yeah! We know the drill.’ It is a completely new experience,” Dingdong said.
Just like any father, Dingdong is excited to see his children grow up and share new experiences with them. Sharing his thoughts that he hopes that someday he can recreate some of his unforgettable memories with his father like riding a motorcycle and doing this together with his own son.
“Maybe one day we can ride (motorcycles) together just like how my dad and I rode together,” he added.
But for his daughter Zia, the supportive father said that their little princes already showed interest in singing and performing, Dingdong shared, “Letizia seems pretty amazed sa pagkanta at pag-perform. I’m looking forward to seeing her take lessons—siguro piano or any musical instrument kung saan sya magpakita ng interest. As soon as she’s capable, we’ll get into it and I’ll support her all the way.”
All of these things serve as an inspiration for Dingdong to achieve more than just being fit and healthy, but also to live a better and happy life with his family in the coming years.
“The purpose has to be greater than just yourself. More than just ‘being fit’, it has to be a way of life in terms of quality and how you want your family to be in the future. Magiging effect nalang yung pagiging fit kung ang gusto mo ay magkaroon ng sustainable na buhay na malakas at happy.”
With that, Dingdong decided to participate this September for his first ever 26 miles marathon. He shared, “Looking back years ago. I would say, ‘Hindi ako sasali doon! Sino bang sira-ulong magpapakasakit ng katawan to go through 42 kilometers?’ But then, yung motivation ko this time is greater than just myself.”
The celebrity father of two admitted that he also feared not to do many things with his children in the future, that’s why he continuously works on finding the perfect balance in terms of food, exercise, and also the quality of work. In that way, he can stay strong enough to be an active father for Zia and Ziggy.
“I fear the time na hindi ko na sya magagawa with them, kapag nanonood nalang ako from a distance,” Dingdong shared.
