This Couple In Benguet Goes Viral For Their Fresh Vegetable Wedding Decoration

A wedding held in a church at La Trinidad, Benguet is currently making headlines for its unique altar decoration — instead of having traditional flower arrangements, the wedding used fresh vegetables.

Since a wedding is considered by many as one of the most important and memorable events in a person’s life, most couples make sure to plan every detail of their wedding as this will only happen once in their life.

Nowadays, a lot of couples choose not to follow the traditional wedding style as they want their wedding to be modern, unique or something that would stand out among the rest. However, there are also some who chose to be practical by using the available resources around them.

In a report from GMA News, the San Jose Parish Church in Benguet was decorated with fresh cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli when the couple Claver and Fleann Molot tied the knot last July.

Looking at the photos, the bride, bride’s maid, groomsmen, and sponsors walked on an isle of cabbages, broccoli, and cauliflower, while the altar is also adorned with bouquets of different green and fresh veggies.

According to Claver and Fleann, the idea of using different fresh vegetables for the church decor came from their aunt, and since vegetable farming is also their main source of income, the couple did not hesitate to give in to her suggestion.

Because of this, they were able to cut the cost of the expensive flower arrangements, and at the same time promote their rich culture and farming in Benguet.

For those who are wondering what happened to these green veggies after the wedding, no need to worry as they were not wasted and served a second purpose. The couple said that the vegetables were also used as a wedding give away for their guests after they used it as an adornment.

The photos taken from the Malot’s wedding were also re-posted on the official Facebook page of GMA News last August 28.

As of this writing, the post has garnered over 197k reaction, 29k shares and thousands of comments from the netizens who were really impressed with their unique wedding theme.
