Super Tekla Shared That He Tried To Reconcile With The Mother Of His Daughter

Super Tekla or Romeo Librada in real life is a stand-up comedian in popular comedy bars, who is best known for his Celine Dion and Whitney Houston voice impersonations.

He rose to stardom after Willie Revillame hired him as one of his co-hosts in the variety show Wowowin. But after his sudden exit in the show, he then became a contract artist of the GMA Artist Center and appeared in several GMA Network shows.

Currently, the 31-year-old comedian-host is hosting his own comedy talk show “The Boobay and Tekla Show” along with his fellow comedian Boobay. But aside from this big break, Super Tekla also had his first movie this year, which was produced by Backyards Productions (a subsidiary of GMA Pictures)

Super Tekla’s first big-screen appearance is for the comedy film Kiko En Lala, which is set to show in the cinemas this September 25. He is portraying the character of the conjoined male twins named Kiko, a straight guy, and his gay twin, Lala, who will have his two characters fall for (Aning) Kim Domingo and hunk actor Derrick Monasterio (Rap).

Kim Domingo said in an interview that she almost forgot that Super Tekla is not a real gay as he seems to have perfected his act of playing gay roles.

In the press conference for his debut film Kiko En Lala, held at the GMA Network Center last Tuesday, September 17. Super Tekla confirmed with some members of the press, his real gender orientation that he is definitely a “straight” guy.

According to the 37-year-old comedian-host, he’s been trying to analyze if his identity has changed in the past 10 years that he’s doing gay roles. But he went on to say that he never gets attracted to men.

“Sabi nga nila, if you’re truly gay…kung totoong bakla ka, hindi p’wedeng walang booking. Charing! Hahaha!” he shared.

He also added that, “Doon talaga [sa babae] ang ano ko, e, Nanliligaw talaga ako.”

As a matter of fact, he is currently courting someone, and that girl is aware that his Super Tekla character is only meant for his comedy shows.

When it comes to his daughter, Super Tekla admitted that there was a time that his daughter got confused about why he dressed like a girl and also putting on some makeup.

“No’ng mga three, four years old, nako-confuse siya… ‘Daddy, bakit naglalagay ka ng makeup, bakit nagsusuot ka ng damit pam-babae?’ So, ine-explain ko sa kanya. Ginagawa ni daddy yan para may pagkain ka, may pang-gatas ka…’”

But now that his daughter is all grown up, he is happy that she is very open-minded and supportive of what he does for a living. In fact, Romeo’s 12-year-old daughter is now his number one fan.

“Mahusay ang pagpapalaki ng ex [girlfriend]…Wow, ex!” he added.

Super Tekla also shared that he even asked the mother of his child to give him a second chance as he wants their daughter to have a complete and happy family. But unfortunately, their relationship did not work out.

“Kasi parang gusto kong matuldukan ang question mark na nakikita ko sa mata ng anak ko. Mga tanong ng anak ko, gusto kong tuldukan. Hindi na nag-work talaga so…let’s move on and then…ang maganda is okay kami para sa bata tapos wala kaming harang. Open kami para sa bata, ” he shared.
