Look: Sunshine Cruz’ Relationship With Her Children Changed A Lot When She And Cesar Montano Separated

After deciding to file a petition to annul her marriage with husband, Cesar Montano in 2013, Kapamilya actress Sunshine Cruz revealed that since they separated, she had “no secrets” anymore with her three daughters Angelina, Samantha and Francheska.
Their children remained in her custody after their separation, and last year it was reported that the QC court finally granted her petition for an annulment.
In her recent interview in the ABS-CBN morning talk show “Magandang Buhay,” the beautiful mom of three shared that positive effect of their separation as she is now much closer to her daughters than before.
“Since 2013 nung nahiwalay ako sa ex-husband ko noon, [nagkaroon] kami ng promise sa isa’t-isa ng mga anak ko, ‘no secrets’ na kung anuman yung mga nararamdaman nila, kung sino naman ang mga crushes nila, kung sino man ang friends nila. They tell me, and vice versa. Sabi ko sa kanila, ‘Anak, sino ba naman ang iba pang magmamalasakit at magtuturo sa inyo ng tama, siyempre ang nanay ninyo dahil ayaw ko kayong masaktan,”‘Sunshine shared.
She went on to share her role as a mother when it comes to her children’s love life and heartbreaks. “Tinuturuan ko kasi ang mga anak ko ng self-worth nila. So I think pag pinaasa sila. Ibig lang sabihin that guy does not deserve my children, because they know their self-worth,” she added.
Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano tied the knot in September 2000, and were blessed with 3 lovely children. But their marriage didn’t last long and was later on brought to the court.
The 42-year-old celebrity mommy also said that all of her daughters appreciated her more and their relationship becomes closer during this darkest time of her life as they saw their mother’s sacrifice and utmost love for raising them on her own.
Sunshine is still very much happy in love with her current boyfriend is Ismael ‘Macky’ Mathay IV, the half-brother of actress turned businesswoman Ara Mina and a known son of the politician Chuck Mathay.
Recently, Sunshine Cruz also starred in one of the Cinemalaya Film Festival entries, entitled “Malamaya,” she played the role of Nora, an artist in her 40s who had a passionate affair with a young amateur photographer named Migs, played by the Kapamilya actor and hunk Enzo Pineda.
