Look: Manny Pacquiao Urges Rich People To Extend Help To The Poor Filipinos, “Ambag-ambagan tayo”

There is no doubt that the Filipino boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao is one of the wealthiest people in the country. It’s also not a secret that he came from a family who had experienced extreme poverty in the past, which forces him to try his luck in boxing at a very young age.

But because of Manny’s perseverance and determination to escape poverty and provide a better life for his family. He joined the boxing world and is now hailed as the only eight-division world champion in the history of boxing.

In a recent speech of the humble Senator Manny Pacquiao, he amazed many when he aired his opinion and asked the rich people and those who are more fortunate in life to extend help to the poor ones.

Pacquiao said, “Lahat sana and I’m praying to God na lahat ng mayayaman, lahat ng may pera, mag-ambag-ambag tayo. Kawanggawa na lang tayo. Tulungan na natin ‘yung mga mahihirap. Bigay tayo kung ano ‘yung tulong na dapat magawa natin. Yung pera natin hindi natin madala sa libingan.”

Manny, who experienced poverty himself, knows how it feels to have nothing, no food to eat for the whole day, no proper shelter. That’s why it really pains him that there are many people who criticize programs for the poor.

“Nasasaktan ako pagka-binabatikos ‘yung mga programa para sa kanila. Dahil d’yan ako galing eh. D’yan ako galing sa pagiging mahirap, ‘yung walang makain sa isang araw. Naranasan ko ‘yun,” he added.

During his speech, Senator Manny also called out the politicians who are always against such programs, especially Albay 1st District Rep. Edcel Lagman for questioning the funds of “Malasakit Centers”; one of the projects of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go that helps the poor in terms of financial assistance.

The boxer-turned-politician added that the fame and all the wealth he has earned are not that important for him. What matters more is that he gives back to others, especially to those who are in need.

“Kaya ako ano man ang narating ko, ano man ang pera, ano man ang halaga nakamtan ko sa buhay, hindi mahalaga para sa akin ‘yan. Ang importante makatulong ako sa taong bayan, makatulong ako sa kapwa ko,” he stated.
