Ever since making his debut as It’s Showtime’s “Kuya Escort” in September 2018, Benigno ‘Ion’ Perez caught the attention of the viewers and the Unkabogable host, Vice Ganda because of his good looks. 

Recently on Instagram, Ion shared some throwback photos that were taken 15 years ago that include hashtags #INSPIRED #CHANGED. These photos received tons of comments and reactions from his fans and followers. 

As seen in the photos, Kuya Escort used to have a noticeable dark skin compared to his white and pinkish glow complexion now. Another thing that changed a lot was his perfect smile, it can be seen in his photos that he used to have an abnormal tooth growth. However, many also commended his good looks even when he was still a kid. 

Despite that, he also admitted being bullied and insulted during his younger years because of his appearance. That experience pushed him to work hard to become a better version of himself.

Ion Perez replaced Greg Hawkins in the Miss Q & A segment in the said noontime show.

His name made rounds in different social media platforms a few months ago after being romantically linked to Vice Ganda. Ion reportedly admitted the real score between him and Vice during one of the tapings of the latter’s show “Gandang Gabi Vice.” 

Since then, the two have been a subject of constant teasing by “It’s Showtime” hosts, fuelling online rumors about their supposed romance. 

Before making a mark in the entertainment industry, the 28-year-old Kapamilya star who hails from Conception, Tarlac is also a model and a male pageant titleholder. He won the titles Misters of Filipinas 2017 and Mister Universe Tourism 2018, which opened a door for him in the modeling industry. In fact, he had also been part of the bachelor list of Cosmopolitan Philippines. 

Ion grew up in a big family in Tarlac, he is the 11th child among the 15 children. His late father was a jeepney driver, while his mother worked at a time as a “kakanin” vendor. He also shared that he used to help his parents in the market and one of his strategies to increase their sales is to take off his shirt.
