Kadenang Ginto Star Francine Diaz Shared The Hardships Of Being The Family’s Breadwinner At Age 10

Kapamilya teen actress, Francine Diaz shared the hardships she and her family encountered before she found success in show business.

The 15-year-old Kadenang Ginto star, who plays the lead role of Cassie Mondragon in the top-rated afternoon TV drama series “Kadenang Ginto,” which is considered as her biggest break in the entertainment industry.

Francine is also part of the noontime show’s “Gold Squad” with her fellow “Kadenang Ginto” stars, Seth Fedelin, Andrea Brillantes, and Kyle Echarri.

In the episode of Rated K last August 18, Francine recently recalled the hardships she faced before she became an actress and how her family’s life has turned better now.

Just like her character in the hit afternoon series “Kadenang Ginto,” she and her family also encountered many difficult scenarios in real life.

“May mga araw na natutulog na lang kami dahil wala kaming pambili ng pagkain. Baon din kami nun sa utang dahil sa pagkain,” she recalled.

The young actress added that there were times she had to skip school because she gave her money to her younger siblings for them to use as their school allowance.

“Yung baon ko po ibinibigay ko sa maliliit kong kapatid, para may pambaon sila. Tapos ako naman po yung aabsent,” Francine added.

Francine also revealed that she even uses her mom’s detergent soap as shampoo and soap for her body before, since they could not afford to buy shampoo.

“Dati po kasi, di na kami nakakabili ng pang shampoo namin. Yung sabon panglaba ni Mama… yun na po ang ginamit kong shampoo saka sabon ko sa katawan,” she shared.

At the age of 10, Francine’s father got sick, that’s why she had to stand as their family’s breadwinner,

“Kasi po nagkakaedad na din siya and high blood siya… gusto ko na tumutulong ako,” Francine explained.

But many things have changed after she was discovered by a talent scout, which paved the way for her to enter showbiz. She then started to so small roles on television and portrayed younger roles of characters in several teleseryes.

“Gusto kong tumulong sa family ko. Ginagalingan ko sa bawat audition. Yung pamasahe namin papuntang audition, inutang pa,” she shared.

She went on to share that she and her family can now eat anytime and whatever they want, “Sobrang laki po ng pinagbago… ngayon po kahit kelan namin gusto kumain, nakakakain na kami.”
