Miracle in Cell No. 7, is a hit Korean comedy-drama film in 2013 that depicts the relationship between a six-year-old girl (Ye-Seung, played by Xia) and her mentally challenged father (Yong-gu, played by Aga) who is wrongfully accused of committing a crime and was later put to jail.

Yong-gu will be assigned to Cell No. 7 where hardened inmates are incarcerated in a maximum-security prison. But with the help of his fellow inmates, who later became his friends, the mentally challenged father is reunited with his daughter when she sneaks into the prison.

Last Month, Viva Artists Agency revealed that Nadine Lustre (as the adult Ye-Seung) was supposed to top-bill the Pinoy edition of Miracle in Cell No. 7, which is an official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

But according to a letter sent to the MMFF executive committee by the said agency, the 25-year-old actress backed out, “due to medical concerns and her resulting inability to perform her duties as an actress during the shoot up to the promotion of the film.”

Following Nadine’s withdrawal from the role, Bela Padilla has been chosen to replace her in this upcoming movie.

Another Instagram post of Aga revealed that they have already started filming the principal photography or the first shooting day for Miracle in Cell No. 7.
