This young student from Lingayen, Pangasinan recently went viral after sharing photos of her collection of medals she received from various academic and pageant wins.
16-year-old April Christelle T. De Leon amazed many netizens with her 200plus medals she accumulated throughout her years as a student, most of which she received from different academic activities and competitions.
April Christelle is a young journalist that represents their school in various competitions. She was the Editor-in-Chief of The Sea Breeze (Lingayen I CS) and The Gulf View (Pangasinan NHS), two multi-awarded school organizations in Pangasinan.
But aside from her academic achievements, the young student also received numerous medals and awards for joining beauty pageants such as the crown for Miss Earth, Lakambini ng Wika, Miss A1, and Miss United Nations.
Apparently, she posted the photo of her collection of medals on Facebook as a way of bidding farewell as she will be leaving the country to continue her studies in Chicago, Illinois.
“These memories will forever be treasured and will always be with me wherever I go. Goodbye Lingayen, Pangasinan…” April wrote.
April Christelle excelled as the first in the class every school year from Grade 1 to Grade 10. In Grade 6, she graduated Valedictorian and was the only one to receive the highest honors (with a general average 98-100) in Junior High School at the Pangasinan National High School (PNHS).
But that’s not all, the young and brainy student also represented her school and district in various competitions, even on a national level. She was also hailed as the Most Outstanding Campus Journalist in the National Schools Press Conference held in Ormoc.
April Christelle shared:
“I posted it po kasi hindi ko na po sila madadala dito sa Chicago. I posted din po kasi wherever I may go, they will serve as a reminder that there was a time in my life that I have received those achievements. For whatever achievements I have, they are the fruits of sacrifices, perseverance and undying determination, believing that for every drop of tears I shed, for every defeat I suffered there is more than equal reciprocation.”
She also plans to come back to the Philippines to fulfill her dream to be an ‘Iskolar ng Bayan’ at the University of the Philippines (UP), taking a degree in Biology before proceeding to Medical School.
