This 11-year-old Iranian girl named Tara Sharifi is currently making headlines for getting a remarkable result on her Mensa “genius” IQ test that even scored higher than those of great thinkers such as Albert Einstein and the late cosmologist Stephen Hawking.
Tara, who is a student at Aylesbury High School recently took the Mensa IQ test in Oxford and was able to score more than the ‘genius benchmark’ of 140. The young student gets an astonishing score of 162 — two points higher than the score of Einstein and Hawking.
Albert Einstein has been recognized as one of the greatest scientists of all time and one of the smartest individuals in the world. He is best known for his theory of Relativity that has become the backbone of Modern Physics. Einstein’s legacy still continued years after he passed away, his life and thought left an impact not only on science, but also on philosophy, visual art, and literature.
Stephen Hawking, on the other hand, is regarded as a brilliant theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author, one of the most recognizable figures in modern science, and also one of the greatest minds of our time.
These two renowned individuals were both considered to be geniuses of the world, but Tara was able to beat both of them in terms of Mensa IQ test.
Meanwhile, Tara’s father admitted that he was surprised by the result of her daughter’s exam as they did not expect that her IQ level was that high, but was proud of what his daughter achieved.
“I am extremely proud but very surprised at how well Tara scored. I figured she might do well when we watched TV, and she would get maths questions before the contestants. I knew she was very clever, but I did not think she would have such a high IQ,” Tara’s father said
Thanks to the score that she secured, Tara is now qualified for the Mensa membership – also known as the High IQ Society.
The young student said that she is very excited to meet new people that share the same gift that she has.
“It will be a great opportunity to meet other people within the Mensa system,” Tara shared.
