It’s no secret that Senator Manny Pacquiao was born in a poor family and only entered the boxing ring out of poverty. Growing up, the young Pacquiao experienced extreme poverty and hardships in life.
Fast forward today, he is already considered as one of the richest and powerful men in the Philippines.
But behind all of his success, many people are also aware of the difficulties he had encountered in the past. Manny Pacquiao is a real-life proof that hard work pays off and determination is powerful.
When he was 15 years old, Manny Pacquiao worked at a construction site as a laborer.
On his social media account, the Pinoy Boxing Champ shared a photo of his old ID card for a company he used to work back in 1994.
In a Facebook post by Memories of Old Manila, one of the members named Sarah Joy Gabriel Rivera posted a throwback photo of Manny Pacquiao’s ID card showing his humble beginning.
She wrote:
“ID ni Sen. Manny Pacquiao n’ong nagtatrabaho pa siya sa construction. From rags to riches talaga.”
Details shown on his Identification card includes his home address, job description, date issued, and his SSS number.
Aside from working as a laborer, another netizen shared that he had witnessed Manny Pacquiao worked as a ‘padyak’ driver and baker in their place before.
They also shared another photo of the senator as a young man.
“Dati rin siyang naging padyak driver doon sa amin sa Malabon at saka panadero.”
Despite all of his achievements and wealth, Manny never fails to remember where he came from and he remains humble.
