The Boobay and Tekla Show is a Kapuso program which was originally a web series aired on YouTube. Currently, the late-night comedy show continued to get higher ratings and win the hearts of many Filipino viewers.
According to AGB Nielsen ratings, GMA’s late-night comedy show “The Boobay and Tekla Show” or TBATS hosted by comedians Boobay and Super Tekla has been consistently beating its rival show in ABS-CBN, Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV), which is hosted by Vice Ganda.
In fact, during the pilot episode of TBATS, the show already registered a higher TV rating that made the tandem of Boobay and Super Tekla excited.
Gandang Gabi Vice show has been on the air since 2011 while The Boobay and Tekla Show premiered on January 27, 2019.

One of the TBATS hosts, shared that they did not really expect that this will happen since TBATS is just a new show.
“Hindi talaga namin in-expect na mangyayari ‘yon, pero binigay sa amin. Sobrang overwhelming ‘yung pakiramdam na gano’n ‘yung pagtanggap ng mga Kapuso natin, kasi hindi namin in-expect na gano’n agad-agad na parang nag-boom agad-agad yung program…”
Meanwilhe, Kapuso comedian Super Tekla proudly shared, “Ang GMA nakahanap ng breakthrough medicine kasi ang daming tinry.Hindi naman sa nagbubuhat ng sariling bangko, pero ang daming tinry, ang daming sumubok na tapatan ‘yung show na ‘yan, but hindi sila nag-succeed”
He also added that what they’re doing is purely about work as their show does not really aim to beat or compete with GGV.
Boobay and Super Tekla admitted that they still feel the pressure whenever they are compared to Vice Ganda.
“Kumbaga, pader ‘yung babanggain namin,” Boobay said.
“Kaso dati kaming construction worker, so, hahaha! Hindi kami nahirapang tiltigin ‘yung pader. Hahaha!” Super Tekla jokingly said.
