Last year, rumors that Cristine Reyes and her husband Ali Khatibi allegedly separated surfaced the internet. But the actress is constantly evading questions about her marriage.
Recently, Cristine finally breaks her silence on their rumored split when the actress admitted that they were ‘civil’ and still in ‘good terms’ with things that they have to do when it comes to their 4-year-old daughter, Amarah.
In an interview with entertainment press, Ara Mina unhesitatingly expressed her thoughts about Cristine Reyes and Ali Khatibi’s separation.
“Welcome to the club! Masaya maging single mom,” she said.
“Idol niya talaga ako,” she added.
The actress is present in the red carpet premiere of her sister Cristine Reyes latest movie, Maria of the VIVA film production.
In the said movie premiere, Ara Mina expressed her support for her sister who is still in the recovery stage when it comes to her married life.
“Oo siyempre naiintindihan ko before buhay may asawa. Hindi naman all the time mabibigay ‘yung time sa amin. Ngayon, mas may time kahit busy siya. Nakikipag-connect siya ganun,” Ara added.
She also mentioned that they became closer now and they spent more time together than before, adding that as an older sister to Cristine, she is always willing to support her in her decisions.
“Basta at least, suwerte nga siya may ate siya eh. May mga older sisters na siya kasi noon ako ang panganay, so mag-isa kong (hinarap) sinalag ang mga intriga. Eh ngayon may mga kapatid siya na taga-salag din, taga-confirm ng mga balita,” she said.
When it comes to the changes she observed about Cristine’s life after the separation, the actress said that her sister is now stronger than her in dealing with controversies.
“Magka-iba kami ng tapang eh. Kumbaga ‘yung heart niya may shield na para ma protektahan na ang kanyang puso at hindi pa masaktan pa ng iba,” she added.
