Raffy Tulfo in Action is a public service affairs program that deals with issues and problems of many Filipinos here and abroad.
Recently, the show featured the story of Gilbert Martinez, who seek the help of Raffy Tulfo after his wife left him for an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Saudi Arabia.
He said that his wife no longer accepts him as her husband because of the nature of his work. Gilbert is a scavenger who came all the way from Piat, Cagayan Valley so he could bring his concern to Raffy Tulfo’s show.
The poor husband complains about his wife named Merry Jane Martinez, who speaks down to him because he is only a scavenger, but he later finds out that his wife does not love him anymore because she had an affair with another guy named Leo Fernandez who is also an OFW in Saudi.
With hopes that he can get his wife back, Gilbert told Leo’s wife, Maricel Fernandez about the situation, but it turned out that it was not his first time he had a mistress. Maricel had experienced so much heartache with her husband in the past that she had already given up on his cheating ways.
In the show, Gilbert shared that his wife had already arrived in the Philippines many weeks ago, but she did not go to their home and Gilbert strongly believes that she is living with her lover, Leo Fernandez.
Upon learning about this, Raffy has decided to provide support to Gilbert so he could have a better livelihood option to support his children and don’t need to work as a scavenger again. The generous host surprised him with a sari-sari store, with an initial capital provided for rice, feeds, and other items he could sell.
When Merry Jane finally faced her husband in the Barangay hall to settle the matter, she told him that she is mad at him for shaming her on Raffy Tulfo’s show. She also claimed that she could better manage the store than Gilbert, therefore, she wanted to have the sari-sari at her mother’s house. The show’s staff pointed out that if that is the scenario, then the store will not be for Gilbert but for her.
Merry Jane has decided not to allow her husband to build a sari-sari store in their conjugal property. Luckily, someone offered to let him use their abandoned house near the couple’s house for free.T
he carpenters immediately started building the store at the abandoned house, however, in the middle of the construction, Merry Jane changed her mind and now wants them to move the store they built into the house she previously shared with Gilbert.
To secure Gilbert’s store, the Barangay Chairman made an agreement that the couple signed stating that Merry Jane would not take the store and make Gilbert go away.
