“I cannot delete those chapters”
Carmina Villaroel and Rustom Padilla tied the knot in 1994, but they got separated in 1997.
The actress began dating her current husband, Zoren Legaspi in 2000. After one year, she gave birth to their children, Cassie and Maverick, in the United States before getting married in 2012.
But prior to her second marriage, her ex-husband, Rustom admitted on national television that he is a gay, and re-emerged as a “woman” named BB Gandanghari.
Just recently, Carmina opened up on her feelings about her marriage with ex-husband Rustom Padilla. She even shared during a previous presscon of GMA’S primetime series “Kara Mia,” that she has no regrets towards her past with Rustom.
In an interview with Pep, Carmina shared that she doesn’t feel awkward whenever she was asked about her ex-husband.
“Wala naman, kasi that’s really my past, as much as gusto ko kalimutan or burahin,” she said.
The 43-year-old actress also added that her past experiences have helped her become who she is now.
“And, kung ano ako ngayon and kung paano ako ngayon as a person, it’s because of my past. It’s because of my experiences before.”
“So, wala, wala, it’s part of my life already,” she added.
When further asked if she already forgot about Rustom’s chapter in her life, Carmina said,
“Hindi ko sinasabing na-erase, pero sobrang tagal na noon.”
Considering the good things in her life right now, she said., “I’m so young then, ang dami kong puwedeng isipin na magagandang bagay.”
“I don’t dwell on the past. Wala na, e, wala nang kailangang anuhin sa past,” she added.
On the other hand, Rustom previously clarified that he already had closure with Carmina before her big revelation. According to him, “Mayro’n po, that was in 2005 kami nagkausap. Napakaganda nga no’n kasi it was really a closure between the two of them,” referring to his ex-wife and former identity.
Currently, Rustom Padilla was formally recognized as a woman by a Los Angeles court and has“transitioned” to her life as “BB Gandanghari.”
