Maymay Entrata or Marydale Entrata in real life is best known for winning the reality TV show Pinoy Big Brother. She’s also the first ever Filipina to walk in the Arab Fashion Week. The 21-year-old had also been part of the blockbuster hit “Fantastica”.
In spite of how far her ambitions have gotten her, Maymay make it a point to share her blessings with others.
Having been raised by her grandparents in Cagayan De Oro as her father left them when she was just a year old and her mother went to Japan to work, Maymay knew how tough it is to grow up without parents. This is why she’s more than willing to extend her blessings to her family including three of her cousins who came from a broken family as well.
During her guesting on Magandang Buhay, Maymay revealed why she chose to send all three of them to school. She said:
“May pinag-aaral po ako ngayon, tatlong pinsan ko po. Nag-promise kasi ako sa kanila, kasi nga (galing) broken family din sila. Kasi ako na rin ang parang tinuturing nilang ina, kaya sabi ko ‘paaaralin ko kayo.’ Tsaka honor (students) sila.”
Moreover, she also hopes she can go back to her studies one day and finish college together with her onscreen partner Edward Barber. As the breadwinner of their family, Maymay also shared that the home she has built for them is almost complete.
When asked about what advice she could give to dreamers like her, Maymay said to always have a back-up goal.
“Siguro ang ma-advise ko rin sa lahat ng kagaya ko na nangangarap, dapat hindi lang isa ang goal nila, dapat tatlo o dalawa. Para at least kung hindi man para sa ‘yo (ang isa), may dalawa pa,” the actress explained.
