If you’re a fan of booze so much, you must have wished at one point or another that beers fell down from the sky or someone gave out some for free. Well, that’s almost the case that happened in North Cotabato.
By the looks of it, the National Highway of Bagolibas Aleosan seemed flooded by beer after hundreds of boxes of liquor fell off from a truck last Wednesday, 16th of January.
As seen on the photos shared by Cotabato Vice Governor Shirlyn M. Villanueva, countless boxes of beer and shattered glasses poured into the road at around 4 in the afternoon.
“Nasubukan mo na bang lumangoy sa dagat ng beer?” Joked by the Vice Governor on her Facebook account.
After her vehicle was not able to pass through at the time due to the incident, Villanueva once again joked that it must’ve been better if they drank beer right there and then.
“We cannot pass through, it’s better that we start drinking beers here,” she said.
According to the report by Philippine News Agency, the Vice Governor was on her way to the town of Midsayap from Kidapawan City when they came to a halt along with other vehicles and discovered a crowd gathering around a truck. She took a photo of the incident and later shared it on Facebook.
One local who witnessed the incident narrated how the boxes of beer fell off the truck which came from Davao City and on its way to Cotabato City while driving down the curved highway.
This had caused heavy traffic on the highway because of shattered glasses of beer. The local also added that they tried to pick up the undamaged beers, but they were stopped by the responding authorities who came to the scene. It was also revealed that some residents were able to take home some beers.
The investigation found out that the rope tied around the boxes of beer accidentally got cut off. Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the incident.
