Maria Izadora Ussher Calzado, better known as Iza Calzado, is an actress, television host, dancer, and model who previously worked as one of GMA Network’s homegrown contract artists. After ten years, Iza transferred to one of its rival networks, ABS-CBN.
Last year in October, she announced her engagement to her British-Filipino boyfriend, Ben Wintle.
A month ago, Iza had the most Instagram-worthy bachelorette bash in Bali, Indonesia and on Wednesday, December 19, she officially tied the knot with her fiancé after five years of dating! The ceremony was held in the beautiful island of Coron, Palawan with their family and friends. Iza’s “sisters” from the fantasy series Encantadia, Sunshine Dizon Karylle, and Diana Zubiri, were there, too.
The former Encantadia star celebrated her special day in a long-sleeved, lace bridal gown by Filipino designer Rajo Laurel and was accentuated by an ocean-inspired shell headpiece designed by Celeste Tuviera. For Iza’s pre-wedding preps, the radiant bride donned a delicate boudoir robe by La Tercera. Makeup artist Juan Sarte did her glowy, simple makeup look.
Before their wedding, the newlyweds also had a one-of-a-kind underwater engagement photo shoot taken by celebrity photographer Pat Dy.
The actress shared in an Instagram post a breathtaking photo of them kissing underwater which was captioned: “Can’t wait to begin this adventure with you my love.”
Pat Dy also shared some snapshots of the couple via Instagram, one with the actress donning a white one-piece swimsuit while submerged in water. In another romantic photo, Dy said of the couple, “Rolling in the deep… Ben and Iza were just in their element.”
Before their special day, Iza and Ben also had a welcome fiesta-themed party for their guests, with a traditional tinikling dance starting the festivities.
