Woman’s Incredible Transformation After a Life-Changing Jaw Surgery Wow’s Netizens on Social Media

In a world where people evaluate people, like it or not, we are judged by how we look. Never mind the amount of money it will take, we gain confidence in ourselves if we look good. The way we dress, the way we carry ourselves also depends on how confident we feel.

Some are lucky to be born beautiful, and unfortunately, there are those who are not. Most seek the powers of surgery to help them gain that lack of their confidence. Just like this girl, Ellie Jones, from Rhyl Wales, who was said to have “facial disfigurement”.

Facial disfigurement is a condition where your looks are affected because of a disease or birth defect. In Ellie’s case, at the age of eight, she noticed that her jaw did not develop and she thinks it was because of her misaligned teeth. She had a severely receding chin because of it Ellie sought a dental specialist for help and started her first surgery at 16 years old.

Four years later, she finished her sessions, and her looks changed completely. Her jaw was finally reproduced, and she looks phenomenal.

She recounted the procedure and her experience on how she managed to endure the painful experience. Her receding jaw had to be sliced vertically and horizontally to be able to be corrected. According to her, “It was really painful but had to be done to sort the problem.

I was on a liquid diet for about a month, which was hard, and I couldn’t talk properly – I had to use a notepad to communicate. After a while, I was able to mumble a few words, and I had a lisp for a while due to how swollen my mouth was.”

It was truly a successful surgery as she gained back her confidence. No one will be able to tell she was the girl with a congenital facial deformity. She said, “I mostly just felt relieved – I finally felt like I could be myself. I was shy, but now I feel confident. It’s changed my whole life.”

Dr. Woolley, Ellie’s surgeon, believes that there are a lot of people that have conditions like this. According to her, “A lot of people don’t realize they have a jaw deformity and just accept that they have difficulties biting. By not treating it at a young age, it can cause real difficulties later in life.”

Her family was extremely happy and supportive with the new Ellie now that she enjoys her new found confidence and plans to become a photographer.

There is no doubt, this lady will make her parents proud once again.
