Toddler Stole His Dad’s Spotlight by Joining Him Onstage and Showing Off His Moves in a Crowd of 5,000

To the delight of concertgoers, Coffey Anderson, a Christian-country artist based in Los Angeles, was joined on stage by his adorable son who wanted a share of the spotlight at a New Year’s Eve concert where his dad was playing medley songs.

The talented American singer-songwriter was performing to a crowd of 5,000 people in Irving, Texas when the 17-month-old Ethan unexpectedly stole the show from his father to show off his moves.

The video of the dancing tot has gone viral online as his dad gushed about his pride seeing his son’s total lack of inhibition.

“I was playing onstage and my little boy who dances when I play guitar at home got away from the backstage and stormed the stage,” Coffey wrote in Facebook. “First he hugged me and then he danced like he was free!”

Unfazed by the boy’s presence, Coffey continued his set while Ethan started a performance of his own wearing a white t-shirt, high top sneakers, and equipped with a pacifier in his mouth. He clapped and swayed to the rhythm as his father played and encouraged him to let loose before the cheering crowd.

The toddler showed his dad that he wasn’t the only one who could groove spending more than two minutes on stage dancing and swinging to the beat as the crowd was completely mesmerized by the spectacle.

Coffey’s wife, hip-hop dancer Criscilla Crossland who’s appeared in videos for Britney Spears, Rihanna, and Kanye West, sitting on the side of the stage also started bouncing to the beat.

The exuberant Coffey said his son’s display was not surprising to him or his wife as Ethan was born with a sense of rhythm and started bouncing to the beat even before he could walk.

“Whenever I play guitar at home, he dances. What he did on stage, it’s just what he does. We’ve never been like ‘Stop, don’t do that.’ All he knows is freedom and expression. He dances like no one is looking.”

The footage was captured by Anderson’s assistant and shared with fans on his Facebook page.
