How to Train your Brain to Fall Asleep in 60 seconds

The human brain is the central organ for body processing and coordinating the stimuli it receives from the rest of the body. It is one of the most important organs that facilitate all the major function and action of the human body.

It has been said that the brain has some unknown functions that are still not yet recognized by science.

As one of the most overworked organs in the body, the brain is one of these organs that needs more rest and rejuvenation. Sleep is one of the factors that provides brain efficiency and function.

It is a naturally recurring state of mind and body which is designed by the altered consciousness that mostly inhibits sensory activity. It also inhibits most of all voluntary movements of the muscles to reduce interactions with the environment.

But most people, especially the ones who are having trouble sleeping due to over-stress and work, don’t get enough sleep.

According to a physician at Harvard, there is a method that aids you regulate your breathing to improve sleeping habits.

By using a breathing technique called “4-7-8” by Dr. Andrew Weil, it can remedy insomnia which most people suffers. You only need to breathe through your nose for 4 seconds. After that, you have to hold your breath in for 7 seconds and exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds. This technique will promote oxygen transfer and enhance blood circulation to your body and brain.

This technique is useful to many people and had helped them from their insomnia in just a few trials of repetition. It prevents stress build up and relaxes the body because of the “feel-good” hormones that are released in the body when efficiently using this breathing technique.

It also slows down your heartbeat but on a normal level. It just makes your body soothe its muscle to a more relaxed form which also calms the mind.

This method is used in relaxation training to improve body function while meditating.
