Grieving Bride Wears Her Wedding Dress and Visit her Fiance’s Grave-site on the Day They Were Supposed to Get Married

Jessica Padgett from Indiana says her wedding day was special even though she didn’t get to marry the ‘man of her dreams’ after Kendall was kïlled in November last year.

Kendall Murphy, who was a firefighter for Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department since June 2016 was tragically kïlled when his colleague, Colby Blake, crashed his vehicle into three cars as they responded to a call. Police said Kendall was pronounced dead at the scene.

Blake from Cannelburg was not injured, but he allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .21% which is more than double the legal limit of .08. He was subsequently charged and arrested over the incident, but the case is yet to be set for trial.

Ten months after the tragedy, the grieving bride courageously wore her wedding dress with her hair and makeup done. She marked the date herself on what should have been their big day. Jessica was pictured holding a bouquet of flowers as she paid an emotional visit to Kendall’s headstone.

In honor of his memory, Jessica tearfully knelt beside her fiancé’s grave, with her head resting on her hands before Murphy’s family gathered around her as they all knelt down in front of his grave.

The heartbreakingly beautiful moment was captured on September 29 by photographer Mandi Knepp, who shared the photos on her Facebook page Loving Life Photography.

“I wanted to be where he was at,” Jessica said.

The bride, who made “broken look beautiful” and “strong look invincible,” also honored her beloved fiancé in other ways on their wedding day.

In powerful images, she posed beside Kendall’s firefighting gear and gazed at a picture of him. She also embraced loved ones and released lanterns into the sky.

In one particularly tear-jerking shot from the day, she can be seen looking down at Kendall’s boots with his image photoshopped next to her.

Jessica wrote on Facebook:

“I can’t say thank you to everyone enough for this entire week! I feel beyond spoiled and loved. This week wasn’t the outcome I wanted, but everyone made me feel especially loved. I especially want to thank my sister for being my rock throughout everything, through the tears and the late night talks I couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you, everyone, for making my wedding day special even though I didn’t get to marry the man of my dreams.”

Both Jessica’s maid of honor and her fiancé’s best man are thought to have given speeches during the “very emotional” day.
