For some time, let’s take a second for the rising young stars of ABS-CBN. It’s time to know more about Maria Ysabel Ortega-Lapid, or Ysabel Ortega.

She started to enter showbiz at the age of 16. On her interview with DZMM last 2015, she confesses that her first role was very challenging.
She was required to act like a 24-year-old drunk lady and she has no single idea how to do it because of her young age and she hasn’t experienced it yet. But, according to her, her co-actors helped her to portray the character well.
Ysabel is the daughter of the 80’s action star and Senator Lito Lapid and former actress-singer and currently Assistant Secretary of Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Ysabel, has a stepfather, Greg Pimentel who’s the Philippine National Police Director for Intelligence. Ysabel and her stepdad have a close relationship.
Greg treats Ysabel as his own daughter, and he took responsibility for the young actress. Ysabel grew only with her mother side.
On the other hand, Ysabel and her biological father Lito Lapid is also close to each other and used to talk, but they suddenly stopped communicating.
Yet, Ysabel has no hard feelings with her father, and she loves Lito so much. On her interview with Boy Abunda’s late night show, she said:
“He’s one of the reasons why I joined showbiz because I look up to him. He’s one of my role models and I’m very proud to have him as my father,”
Ysabel is just on the start of her journey of becoming the next big star in the Philippines’ showbiz.
