In a heartwarming photo shared by the Facebook user, Ian Carlos Simbuyan, we can clearly see and feel the love of a 6-year-old girl, Catherine, for her father. Diagnosed with Emphysema, her father experiences difficulty in breathing and needs to be regularly given medications using a nebulizer. Emphysema is a long-term, progressive disease of the lungs that primarily causes shortness of breath due to over-inflation of the alveoli (air sacs in the lung).
However, due to extreme poverty, Catherine’s family could not afford to buy a nebulizer for his father. What they use instead is a manual air pump so that he can be given the medications he badly needs for his illness.

The family’s situation has reached the attention of the local network GMA 7, featuring their heartbreaking story in the documentary show Front Row. Due to the exposure and also with the aid of social media, overwhelming financial support and assistance have poured upon the family of Catherine.
