First things first, this story is from a few years back, but no matter how many times you watch it on loop, it just doesn’t get old.
Besides, all the smiles this couple has created by singing are priceless, so it’s definitely something that deserves another set of rounds on the internet. If you are one of those who hasn’t watched it yet, then you are definitely in for a treat!
Would you sing a song if asked by a voice in a gas pump?
This guy did – and his magnetic performance fascinated the Tonight Show pranksters behind the stunt that he ended up singing on TV in front of millions in an NBC studio.
In the middle of a suburban gas station, Will Sims, a bartender, belted out Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer without any accompaniment while his wife howled with laughter in their car.
Not only that, when asked for a duet by the man in the gas pump, his wife willingly got out of the car to sing a pitch-perfect “Sweet Dreams” by the Eurythmics while only dressed in baggy sweatpants and a bandana.
The two-way camera attached to the gas pump, along with other cameras surrounding the car recorded the whole scene as Will, and Monica Sims were encouraged to sing some more.
Jay Leno was so enthralled that he invited the two on his show. He said it was unusual to see a couple so joyful together. They, along with the Tonight Show band including Leno himself, led the entire audience in a rowdy clap-fest.
The pair just proved that it indeed pays off to step out of your comfort zones from time to time.
